The name of Stockin is perpetuated by Stocking House Farm, Park Gill Bank Wood is now Spring Wood and Park Gill Moor is the land to the north of it which became part of Scawton Park Farm. These names are likely to have originated with the Park enclosed by Richard Malebisse in the early 13th century.
